The Front Porch Song

I have presented this song to you before, but it goes so good with this week’s theme. It is one of my all time favorite songs and we just moved back to Texas for the winter, so you get it again.  The Jack Voyyette in my life was Boyd Iverson, and he was an old bull I learned so much from and really miss.

The Front Porch Song

This song is my all time favorite.  It fits perfectly with the theme of the week.  This song was written quite a few years ago and shows the lifestyle of Robert Earl Keen and many baby boomers in Texas and other agricultural states.  He is a big part of the Austin music scene.  Austin, Texas represents a big part of the foodie movement, but the start of this music scene had the roots in ranching as told in this song.  Every time I really listen to this song, not just hear it, it really makes me feel good and appreciate the great song writing ability of Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
