Texas Cookin’

We have spent the winter in Texas. The food sure fits my taste, as well as the music.
Darrell Burnett turned me on to both.  My favorite is Mexican, then barbecue.  If you are south of Fort Worth stop at a Mexican restaurant in Hillsboro named El Vaquero and have the “castillo’s de carne.”  It is my favorite meal at a restaurant bar none.  I also love chicken fried steak if it is good.  My favorite is at the cafe in the sale barn in Amarillo.

Guy Clark’s “Texas Cookin'” sums it up about right. Find more of Guy Clark’s music on iTunes.

A Rural Point of View

I heard this song after having a long discussion about living a “green lifestyle” with a fellow from Australia.  Often times it is so difficult to understand someone’s thinking because we can’t see it from their point of view.  The only way to understand why someone does or thinks what they do is to see it from that point of view. Once you have done so then you can apply the proper negotiations (pressure and release) to get the result you are trying to accomplish. The same is true working with animals. Give the song a listen and if you want to hear more check out more of Reverend Horton Heat’s music HERE.
