A real nice first ride with very little problem. This is a real nice young horse that should make a safe, fun and productive horse, if I do my job right.
I’ve always felt the job of a colt starter is to keep the life and try in a horse while getting him safe and in a learning frame of mind, so that whoever and whatever direction he goes he has the most potential.
I very much enjoy and find great value in taking horses to pasture for night and “Jingling” in the morning.
I get two rides on horses every day that the job creates life in the horse, probably the best thing you can do on a young horse, if you like straight and forward in your horses.
I also get a real good feel for the horses I’m driving and get them to understanding upward and downward transitions from my energy I’m presenting
I also get to be a part of nature and can really enjoy seeing my grass, water, fences and get to see if horses are healthy. I would get much less if I was on a machine, so I would rather do it afoot than on a skunk wagon! (Charlie Russel’s name for motorized vehicle)
So ride along with me, and send me a video of your horse gather!
This is such a nice job of working as a team and sorting cattle in a way that is fun and real good for the cattle to get better to handle rather than a cow fight.
People, cattle and horses getting better while getting the work done. Remember, they had never worked cattle, and most no horse experience just 3 years ago. They have tried hard at getting better and have done it right. I’m proud to be a part of Tribe Cattle co.!
