I enjoy Mexicans and Mexican culture.  I am embarrassed at how much Americans have and how unhappy we are, and how little people from Mexico have and how happy they are.  I have been working with the crew at Cargill in Leoti Kansas for quite a while and they are great guys that work so hard and keep trying to do better.

I know immigration is a big deal right now, and I am all about following the legal way, but this Tom Russell song asks a pretty good question.  I just felt I had to say something for the hard working people that are not bad but good for our country.

I new we we had a storm coming last night, so I put the extra effort of putting straw out. I am not sure they had a huge gain in performance because of it. When I went out to feed this morning my calves were real content.  The thing I am contemplating is who is most content, the bulls, or me for creating it.  This is a maintaining pressure that is positive for me and the animals.  I get a good feeling and the calves get comfort.  We both get a positive, so to me it was worth the effort.

I did get them up and drove them to feed.  They may have been so content that they would have stayed there to long and then over eat and over drink when they did get up.  This is combining stockmanship with stewardship.
