Here are some videos from Arkansas working with El Conejo that I didn’t get posted while there.
It was a great place to get him started again. He is an interesting horse. One day he rode great, I took him outside and rode him around the pasture and through pens and he never thought about bucking or running off.
The next day it was cold and rainy and he bucked when I saddled him, then bucked when I was riding him. I got him stopped and just went n with the riding. I had made up my mind that I was going to take the horse herd out with him before I started the ride. He was doing good after he bucked so out in the rain we went and took the horses out. He was good, just went along with the bunch. Trotted right with them no problem. Something set him off and he bucked again but I got him stopped before he got to bucking hard. Rode back to barn just fine.
I really feel good about getting him started again. He has so much feel and is so fun to ride. He’s a great mover and if I can get him to quit being so broncy and better to catch life will be good for him.
I think there are some things for you to think about in these videos. Lots of thoughts on using legs and hands together in snaffle bit video, and I was showing Logan Tankersley how I like to ride a colt the first few times.
